Gift-A-Teacher with L.I.F.E and Transform-A-Nation Movement aims to contribute to the crafting of our country's future by giving all the Filipino teachers within 5 years an opportunity to initiate transformation in their lives with a 2-day Leadership in Filipino Education (L.I.F.E) workshop.

Gift-A-Teacher with L.I.F.E and Transform-A-Nation Movement was launched on June 11, 2007, with the endorsement of the DepEd and in commemoration of our 109th Philippine Independence. During the launching ceremonies, DepEd Secretary Jesli Lapus declared: “The transformation of our nation begins with our individual transformation as a new breed of Filipino heroes. We need to look deep inside of us for that Filipino hero. Our transformation will free us from old, limiting beliefs that have prevented us from achieving our full potential as individuals and as one Filipino community. Through our transformation, our efforts, no matter how small, can spell the difference between our progress and our decline as a nation. Together, we shall achieve. Together, we shall create a prosperous society for all Filipinos.”

There are about 555,000 public and private school teachers who create a significant impact on the future of our children. About 20 million students learn under these teachers in a given year. Through the ripple effect, gifting a Filipino teacher with L.I.F.E. is to gift our students. To gift our students is to gift our nation. To gift our nation is to gift the world with the best of who the Filipino is.

This transformation can happen in our lifetime. Since the Gift-A-Teacher Movement started in December 2006, over 5,000 teachers have participated and the feedback has been positively overwhelming. All it takes is for us to work together as partners with the same vision.
